Stuck in the Cloud: Why Your Printables Never Get Published (And How to Fix It On Saturday's)

Your files aren’t lost. They’re just unpublished.

Woman in the clouds full of ideas.
Are you stuck in the clouds with ideas?

There’s a quiet graveyard where creativity goes to wait.

It’s not made of bad ideas — it’s full of almost finished ones.

Songs. Poems. eBooks. Checklists. Journals. Curriculum plans. All of them sitting in Google Drive, Canva, or tucked away on your laptop in a folder labeled “Final-Draft-V3-Final-Final.”

They’re all stuck in the cloud — never uploaded, never sold, never shared.

Steven Pressfield called it Resistance — and he was right.

In his book The War of Art (one of my most beloved books on creativity having read dozens of times over whenever I'm stuck or have writers block), Pressfield talks about Resistance: that invisible force that shows up right when you’re about to finish something meaningful.

It doesn’t come when you’re brainstorming. It comes when you’re close to the end.

You’re done writing, done designing, and instead of hitting publish…You walk away.

You tell yourself it needs one more edit. One more image. One more tutorial before you’re “ready.” But deep down, you’re stuck in the loop. The loop of almost done.

Woman stuck in her room of digital ideas that need to be published.
Are you stuck in your creative vault of digital ideas?

Creating feels good — but it’s not completion.

Writing is cathartic. Making digital products can feel like therapy. It gives you a rush of progress. But here’s the truth:That journal isn’t finished if no one can download it.That planner isn’t helping if no one’s using it.That eBook isn’t working for you until it’s out there. Most people stop at that feel-good moment… and never actually finish.

This is the season of DO — not delay.

We are no longer in a season of passive learning. We’re in a season of action.

That means:

  • Not one more YouTube tutorial

  • Not one more course you won’t finish

  • Not one more idea you don’t follow through on

Either you do it, or you stay in the cloud. Either you publish it, or it sits in silence.

And honestly? You’re too close to be stuck this long.
